Every major quest, fast travel between regions, resting at shrines, and allocating skill points advances in-game time. You cannot complete every side quest in a single playthrough; prioritizing high-value objectives and lieutenants is essential to reaching the best endings before Day 30 concludes.
By day, Coen remains human, relying on swordplay, directional parries, silver blades, and diplomatic conversations while avoiding direct sun exposure vulnerabilities. At night, he awakens his Vrakhir vampire powers—gaining blood magic, predatory leaps, wolf shapeshifting, and enhanced senses.
Combat is inspired by historical European martial arts (HEMA). Attacks come from four cardinal directions (high, low, left, right). Matching the enemy's attack direction with a well-timed block performs a directional parry costing 0 stamina. Dodging costs stamina, making precise parries superior against tough bosses.
Lord Brencis commands three lieutenants across Vale Sangora: Ambrus (The Iron Vanguard), Bakir (The Nocturnal Shadow), and Xanthe (The Sanguine Witch). Defeating each lieutenant permanently disables specific blood shields and minions in the final confrontation with Brencis.
There are 7 distinct narrative endings depending on your remaining days, how many lieutenants you eliminated, Coen's moral choices regarding human feeding versus blood starvation, and the survival of his sister Lunka.
